4415 KIHA 40 354 has arrived at Mukawa. Today (2022) Mukawa is the end of the line. From here the former Tomiuchi-sen (closed in 1986) branched off into the mountains to Hidaka-chô.

4419 At Mukawa, KIHA 40 354 waits for an oncoming train, formed of KIHA 40 356 and 360.

4426 Hama Taura halt.

4434 The Toma-tô Atsuma power station 苫東厚真発電所 in the distance.

4436 After Hama Atsuma. The Toma-tô Atsuma coal-fired power station, which supplies half of the current needed in all of Hokkaidô. It was severly damaged in the earthquake of September 6, 2018, and had to be stopped for a month.

4443 From Hama Atsuma to Yûfutsu. The plane in the sky is about to land at Sapporo Chitose Airport.

4447 Yûfutsu halt.

0360 KIHA 40 356, refurbished specially for the Hidaka line, is now (after August 2015) in ordinary service elsewhere, here seen at Tomakomai, attached to a regular JR Hokkaidô KIHA 40. KIHA 40 356 was scrapped in September 2021.
