Yûrakuchô-sen

1067 mm gauge, overhead current collection (direct current 1500 V). The Yûrakuchô-sen runs from the City of Wakô (Wakô-shi) northwest of Tôkyô in Saitama Prefecture (Saitama-ken) to Shin Kiba, an industrial port area by the Bay of Tôkyô. Length: 28, 3 km. The line was opened 1974 – 1988.

The Yûrakuchô-sen operates together with the Fuku Toshin-sen as far as 6 Kotake Mukaihara, from where it branches off towards central Tôkyô, but sharing the next two stations (7 Senkawa and 8 Kanamechô) with the Fuku Toshin-sen. At 6 Kotake Mukaihara some trains coming from Tôkyô continue via the Seibu Yûrakuchô-sen onto the Seibu Company’s Ikebukuro-sen to Tokorozawa and Hannô (and vice versa) (SEI). (Seibu)

Moreover, Tôbu Company trains (from the Tôbu Tôjô-sen) partly work right through from the Yûrakuchô-sen beyond 1 Wakô-shi as far as Shinrin Kôen, and on weekends to Ogawa-machi (see Tôbu Company) (TÔT, O). However, Seibu Company trains do not work onto the Tôbu railway.
